Remap vs Juicebox
Hi There!
I am not sure if I am using the right terminology, but I am trying to find a way to decrease the 0-62 speed of my new 2011 E91 335i (Is the 335i redundant if you say e91?). I have heard that the two cheapest and easiest ways to accomplish this are a box that plugs into your engine, and an engine remap. Vieuzu (I think) is the brand I have been quoted for the remap, but I can't seem to find a review for that. I have been quoted $1000 NZD for that including installation, and I see various boxes, but don't really have a clue which is best. Anyone able to offer some advice please? Do both affect warranty? (Aftermarket since I imported mine). |

I think you are thinking of VISHNU, a lot of people on here have either the vishnu procede or Juicebox... Procede is a little more expensive... but you can do more in cabin modifying with the JB... Both will void warranty if they are detected by dealership, but they can easily be removed before service and put back on, I'm not sure about the procede but with JB you can clear the codes right away if you have the stage 2, with stage 1 you need a CANTool

Wow that's a lot of terminology I don't understand Are you saying a stage 2 is end user installable and removable, Whereas stage one should be installed by a pro? Viezu is the brand I have been offered locally. Would something like these devices likely mess with my vehicle insurance? Sorry if these are dumb questions. |

Stage 1 and stage 2 are both made by the same company BMS, you get more HP from stage 2 but you still need to have stage 1, but with stage 2 when you uninstall it to take it in for service or whatnot, you have the option to clear codes (which you would want to do) if you only get stage 1 you will need a CANTool... the installation isn't very difficult once you get used to it!! Like i said i know if you get caught with a Vishnu Procede or the JB you will most likely get your warranty voided, but no idea about Viezu cz i've never even heard of it....
The more research you do, the better knowledge you will have... i was just like you when i first got my car, had no idea about anything... Good Luck |

better stick with your local tuner, cuz once your car has problem; they are just next to you.

The JB Stage2 for the N55 is a great tune at a great price and gives you full control of the different maps through the steering wheel controls. Its probably the best bang for your buck tune on the market!
As for warranty any tune can technically have warranty implications but the JB is easy to remove if needed and comes with built in code reading and clearing so you can wipe the ECU of any codes before going into the dealer. If you have any other questions feel free to post or email me Mike |
