21" HRE P40L, Staggered, xDrive

Just put these 21" HRE P40L Wheels on my F10. Using 21x9 w/ Pzero Nero 255/30 front and 21x11 w/ 295/25 rear. First tried 295/30 on the rears and there was no rubbing but the xdrive didnt like that too much. The traction control would activate thinking the fronts were spinning faster, which they were. Cruise control didnt work correctly either. The car also looked jacked up in the rear which I didnt care for much.

Once I changed the rears to 25s, everything is fine. With xdrive, you need to make sure the "spread" (difference between front and rear rolling diamaters) is close to 1%. In this scenerio, the spread is 0.81%, the fronts are 1.15% bigger and the rears are 0.34% bigger, hence 0.81%.

Running 40psi all around. Pretty stiff ride compared to my 20s with Vredesteins. Started to use the "Normal" mode setting more often as it makes the ride pretty good. With the 20s, I NEVER used "Normal" because it was too soft. Now I see a difference between the two modes "Normal" & "Sport". The car feels much more stable and drives like a dream.....

here are the pics with the 30s in the rear..

btw....how bad do the brakes look??? Its amazing how quickly they start discoloring...ie..corrision & rust etc....only 6months old, 13K miles, garaged all the time, maybe 4-5 pretty serious rainfalls I drove through.

Congrats on some awesome wheels. They fits the car great.

What kinda drop do you have?

I see you say the rears are 21x11, but I'd assume there be more stretch to a 295/25/21 tire on a 11" wide wheel??

pretty nice but maybe a little stiffer than desired. I also think that my 20" vredesteins are a much better driving tire than pirelli. Vredestein sidewalls have more rubber than most tires and it really makes the car drive softer. My 20s had 42psi and the ride still felt softer. I wish vredestein made 21s but that happens to be the size they skipped out on...my luck....

Very nice
Thinking of going 21's also,
But in 245/35/21 front and 285/30/21 rear
Making the diameters very close 27.75'' & 27.73'', so i dont get issues with the x-drive.
Plus get more rubber to help on the bad road we have in Quebec.

Anybody running these sizes?

BTW......78MAO....what tire pressure are you running on your fronts and rears? I had to change the rears from 40 to 42 because I think they were under inflated?? Im running 40 in the front.....Just curious....thanks..

I have noticed that the wider tires give you better stability but you have to pay for that with a harder ride. I think your proposed setup will be perfect....
