DME swap question

I have a 08 E93 N54 bosch DME unit, I bought the car wreck and needed a working DME. Anyways, my question is can I change the VIN to another used DME to get my car working ? If so, would a BTech Cable or ebay cable work and what software?? I have these cables currently.

i don't have any direct experience with this, but i'm almost positive it requires dealer coding to swap ecu's.

i searched around , ppl's use WinKFP to change Vin. I wonder if I can use it on the MSD 81

agree to both, you can go to a dealership or find someone with autologic
