Catless downpipe and warranty
I want to order a catless downpipe but i dont want to lose the warranty. Will the dealer find out that i am using a catless downpipe?
Thanks in advance. |

Please use the search function or google to ask these questions, which have been asked a million times in the past. It's just creating more clutter on the forums.
Long story short, they can't just blanket void a warranty for downpipes. Now if your turbos start smoking and need to be replaced, they could refuse to work, or replace, those turbos. But then again, US laws might not be the same as Bahrain. I'd be more concerned about your country's (state's) laws vs. warranty. Here in the US, it can be punishable by the EPA in fines or jail time by going catless.

if you constantly bring the car to the dealer with the catless downpipes, chances are they'll notice. technically they can't void warranty unless they prove that the problem originated from the catless downpipes, but it varies from dealer to dealer. safest way to do things would be to replace the downpipes every time you go in to the dealer for service, but that can get really annoying

Hypothetically speaking, if there is any turbo issue irrelevant to catless downpipes such as turbo seal leaks, excessive wastegate rattles, etc, etc, will the dealer automatically refuse all services under warranty?

honestly, if u haven't done research - and the information is out there - perhaps you should not modify your car.
you are getting in over your head. keep the car stock. when you can afford for the motor to blow and replace it on your own - thats when you should consider modifying the car.
