Vishnu N55 Love....Island of Misfit Toys :(
Damn....I read the N54 posts and I see all these great threads about the new Vishnu aggressive maps, Proceed tuner adjustable parameters, Vishnu meth and a new Vishnu single turbo....
I've feeling like we are on the island of misfit toys (with our N55's) and Christmas is coming!!! Add to this thread if you want some Vishnu N55 focus! Where is the N55 love Vishnu????

That big single project for y'all needs to be undertaken and quick!!! I want to see a 600 Wheel N55 and I think it's very possible.

Agressive maps (high boost mid-range), and NLS would be enough for me. I'm still tuneless, and if Vishnu is gonna put us on the back-burner, I'll wait for Cobb. They said after the holidays.
I'd rather have the Proceed goodies (gauge hijacking, etc) but on a lease (like a lot of us...) and doesn't make sense to wait it out. |

guys- your engine has been in the 3-series for 2 years tops. go back and search the n54 tuning landscape 2 years into it. it's laughable how much further along the n55 is at this stage in it's lifespan. give it some time

eh... I suppose you're right, however, the hardware (proceed) is already there. If we're talking about taking a week of time to port things over we're not re-inventing the wheel.
Comparing the advent of the N54 to the N55 is not fair. A lot of the stuff is the same, the N55 is not a "whole new engine" that needs 4 years to figure out all over again. |

Basically the same way I've felt about LCI aero parts... Three years into the LCI and we have Msport bumpers, splitters (for the Msport bumper lol) and trunk spoilers. That's it unless you wanna pay 5k for a big-name body kit that looks like shit anyway.
More pre-LCI cars than LCI = more attention for Pre-LCI. More N54s than N55s at this point means more aftermarket N54 support. Last edited by PINeely; 11-28-2011 at 12:06 PM.. |

That's all the info I have. I sent an email off their website and asked them about N55 development and the response I got was, "we're hoping for release sometime around the end of the year - no guarantees."

Vishnu.....This is your chance to get a big jump on COBB. Focus on the N55...You are going to be stuck supporting a dying breed (N54). This is your opportunity! Bring on the N55 love!

Yes that it's not a whole new engine for the 3 series, but when you look at the 5 Series N55 and X5 N55 engine the ECU programing is totally different than that of the 3 series... (i know I'm the definite minority when it comes to tuning and modding an N55 X5). Not sure if it has to do with the 8 speed transmission that the 5 and X5 share, which you guys don't have...

Well Vishnu is obviously not even looking at the N55 threads cuz they would blow their lids if they see people wanna leave them for Cobb that doesn't even exist yet.

never see them on N55 board. can anyone tell me what modifications need to be made to just swap out the turbo. I know its a space issue and tuning issue but if shiv is planning on tuning the n54 single shouldnt it be not too difficult.

I was wondering the same thing since we are already setup for a single turbo!
