Bye bye E90
The time is dawning....I'm very soon to move on to pastures new, leaving the e90 behind
Looking to buy something as a compromise between 4 door luxury / something that doesnt have snail pace but to to high of an insurance group (0 NCB) with ~6k to spend. Goal is to own this new motor short term until my return to the e90 fold, though I have my eye on a few high miler e90's that could fit the bill. On the look out for a 3 series (e46/e90), A4, Passat, maybe even a Mondeo any suggestions for alternatives welcome. Will be gutted when I have to hand the keys back Last edited by Dizzle; 11-29-2011 at 07:26 AM.. |

6k will get you an M sport E90 320d at auction!
Or an SE spec 100k'er from a reputable dealer. No need to leave the fold! An E46 330i would be a very good suggestion though if you can run one (petrol costs) - and with significant change to spare. You should be E46 330d money quite comfortably too, which of course have more reliable turbo's than the E46 320d which I would not recommend at all.

Although I'm by no means the expert here (Let someone else reply also) I'd say: If you go 320d then go for a 54 plate onwards where the turbo and swirl flap issues were allegedly resolved
Early E90 and late E46 prices are overlapping now though. Also worth looking into..

For example a car you'd get for under 7k I'd wager, with 70k on the clock:
