help where/what is this sound?
just noticed today every time i let off the gas i hear like an grinding/whistling sound, almost like the sound you would hear from brakes squeaking. although its not the brakes because every time i press the brakes the sound goes away. Its kinda loud too i can't hear it when the windows are up but you can definitely hear it when there down. Currently only have dp and jb4 as performance mods and the car only has 23xx miles

Blown charge pipe maybe? Just take the JB4 off and bring it in. I see you have a DP too, but I dont think it would have anything to do with that unless whoever installed the downpipe didnt clamp it tight enough.
Also, Ive heard of maybe a front crankcase seal making a noise. But, honestly, I dont know. |

Grinding/whistling? That is 2 opposite types of sounds, doesnt really make much sense. Can you maybe be a tad more elaborate on the exact noise. What area of the car is the noise coming from? Doesnt it happen every time you let off the gas, or only when you let off the gas after being in boost?
Also that crankcase seal mentioned above. Its the rear crank seal that makes the noise, not the front. That noise only occurs @ idle. |
