Rossi 2nd at Monza Rally Show

The man is talented beyond belief as fast as F1 drivers in an F1 car and only 24 seconds behind the mighty Loeb who he beat on 2 of the stages!

Full details here: http://www.motogp.com/en/news/2011/monza+rally+show

I hope Ducati sort out their MotoGP bike and engine for 2012 so that he can show his sublime skill on a race bike one more time.

Big talent for sure. Let's not forget he started in karts originally.

Going back to the F1 thing. I think he was a fair few seconds of Schu.

Since they are going back to 1000cc's now it's Hayden's time to shine again. It will be a whole different world for cornering speed. That will push the dirt trackers and superbike riders to the front!

No mate. After his 3rd test, he was only a few tenths from the Fiorano lap record in an F1 car.

Oh ok, fair enough. Although I'm sure a few tricks were pulled to "ensure" that happened. Haha

I wish his personality mad him faster on an 800. I would love to see Rossi start winning again though.

As talented as Rossi is, he would be hugely quicker than pretty much any non-F1 driver, he was however considerably slower than Schumacer at Fiorano (3s not 0.3s)

The prospects of the World’s best motorcycle racer switching to Formula 1 Motor Racing were enhanced significantly this week when Italian World Motorcycle champion Valentino Rossi tested the Ferrari F2005 car for two complete days at Ferrari’s private Fiorano test facility, lapping fast enough for former Ferrari test-driver Jean Alesi to describe his performance as “formidable”. Apart from Rossi’s 58.3 second lap of Fiorano (Michael Schumacher's track record is 55.999), further indication of the importance of the test was evident when Ferrari CEO Luca di Montezemolo and F1 supremo Jean Todt were on hand for the drive.
Quote:
Ex-Ferrari driver Jean Alesi was quoted in Corriere della Sera, “Fifty-eight-three in the summer, meaning in non-ideal conditions – formidable.'' “Valentino makes me dream and I say he has nothing to lose. Go ahead and try it. Everyone likes him, from the Italians to the Japanese.''
