Hotels and parking in London

I am coming in to London on Thursday and need to park my car somewhere where it can be worked on.

I am having a chap retrofit some heated seat controls and wiring to my car. He is usually mobile, so I need to find somewhere where I can park so that he can work on the car, preferably near Oxford Circus (although not essential).

I also need somewhere to stay overnight as I am attending an event on the Thursday evening and then need to be at a meeting near High Street Kensington the next morning.

Does anyone have any suggestions for the parking issue and for some reasonably priced accommodation?

Wow. You're lucky it's not a Friday but in the run up to Christmas hotels near Kensington you're looking at 120-150 a night as a minimum...

As for parking: I'd suggest Bayswater NCP. At approx £3/hour it's alot cheaper than the other NCP in the area, is underground so he can do what he needs without attracting too much attention etc. Most of westminster, other than near Goodge street: Is a tow zone. So yellow line parking too much of a risk. Especially this time of year.

Alternatively: Pay whatever hotel you pick the £30/night or whatever they want for parking and just have him do it there.

So;

ONE PLACE I've been told near early court: That isn't too pricey is the London Lodge Hotel..

But otherwise generally checking tripadvisor might be best idea: It's hard to go on personal recommendations with such short notice. It's kind of a case whoever will take you now and not pull down your pants for the privilege

So maybe have a click through here:

It was a nightmare driving through London in that area this weekend just gone. Dread To think how bad it would be Midweek.

would be better off staying at the hoilday inn swiss cottage or o2 with free parking and telling them your cars broken down and a guy's coming to fix it . Then take the tube to oxford circus 20 mins

If you don't mind being a bit further out, the Holiday Inn Express has a good sized covered car park and you should get away with not paying for your fitter as well (as the others have said, just tell them your car is poorly and being fixed).

Two other options are the Holiday Inn Kensington Forum or the Millennium Gloucester (both within spitting distance of Gloucester Road tube) but parking is £30 per night and your fitter will have to pay as well. You will also find both of these (like many London car parks) really tight on space so your guy may not have enough room to actually work.

The one in Hammersmith will not be a problem.
