Need Advice on Tunning

Hey guys, I have been on this forum for 4 years now. I have owned 2 E92 335's. One 2009 model and my current one is a 2011 N55 335i. I never chipped the 2009, and I lost it because it got lemoned, by BMW. Which sucked because I lost about 10gz on that car. Anyways, now I have the N55 335i, its got about 10k miles, and I want to chip it. But I'm scared!

I have been reading up on Tunes as much as I can, but I still have some unanswered questions.

#1) Which tune, except the BMW Performace tune, is the safest for my car? I was thinking a JB3? Or JB4?

#2) All tunes can be turned off whenever I want right? And I could just use it when I need a little extra ?

#3) The only performance mod I currently have is an Injen Intake, and If I get a Tune I think getting a Charge Pipe is recommended to help support the tune, Right? If correct, which map would you recommend with these mods? Plus If I do all this, I will end up getting a down pipe as well, so what map is best then?

#4) I don't want to lose my warranty so what am I supposed to do, to not run into problems with BMW?

#5) My car is a buy, so I'm planning on having it for 5-7 years, and i'll probably put 100k miles on it. Will putting a chip on the car lessen the life of the engine?

Thank you for reading and for your time in advance!

Mike

You don't need a charge pipe
You can "hide" it when you go to dealerships. map 0

For now, your only option is to go with Procede or Juicy Box piggybacks.
There are some flash tune available but they require you to take out and ship ECU.

I heard that DINAN is coming out with N55 flash tune soon.
If you are so worried about the warranty, you should wait for it.
DINAN will cover your repair cost if anything breaks down due to their tune.

I have feeling that we will see big name companies such as DINAN, COBB, and GIAC coming out with N55 flash tune next year.
I am just waiting for these since I am not fan of piggyback.

Can I keep it on map 0 on everyday driving?

What about engine life? You think it will ruin anything?

No, should hurt engine life. If anything, it should help your car.
You can keep it on map zero all the time.

If your really worried just get the BMW PPK1 tune it's on sale throught the end of the year!

I have it on my car and love it. I think you can cover it under the extended warrant as well since you mentioned you hope to have 100K on your car one day.

The PPK tune is awesome and you can enjoy it everyday in all driving situations. The downshifts are amazing. When you stand on the gas the system drops a gear or two and just leaps forward. No lag, no waiting for boost to build just INSTANT forward motion!

Others are faster but the PPK is a balanced tune for a stock 335i Msport

The only reason why I don't want the PPK is because If imma spend that much on a chip, I might as well get something that's impressive. I don't wana pay $500 dollars for something that adds 20 hp....

But thanks for the advice. I just figure if im going to do it, I might as well do it right.

Why do you say it will help the car? How?

Another question is what do I need to go with a tune? Inter cooler, DP, you said no to the Charge pipe....I just wana be safe. I've always been scared of chipping the car.

Hard to explain, but it's like vitamins for your car haha.
You don't need anything. The tune is usually the FIRST and ONLY mod that a lot of people do. You don't need anything at all. Usually it's the other way around and things that require the tune.
Buy the tune and you're all done. Haha
