What's this unplugged cable near amp?

Here it is. I read about other people's amps failing, and so i decided to check the temps on my amp after a drive home. I open the compartment, and notice that there's a wrapped cable blocking the airflow to the fans on the amp cooling fin.
I tucked it off to the side near the front of the car.
Here are a couple pics, THANKS!

cd player prep fiberoptic wire

All 09 and earlier US cars came with the wiring in place for both the cd player and some of the other options.

ventilation might help

There seems to be lots of reports about the L7 amp going out.
I thought Technic knew of somebody in Florida that repaired them.
