How do I enable the radio when I unlock?

I was wondering how do I enable the radio to start playing when I unlock the door using the key fob. I received a loaner while my car was in for maintenance and when I unlocked the car the radio would start playing automatically. I thought it was pretty neat and want to do the same for my vehicle. Would it be possible on my 07 e92?

Cars with comfort access keep playing the radio until the doors are locked from the outside but I've never heard of a car that starts playing when doors are unlocked.

that's strange...the loaner that BMW gave me yesterday definitely started playing the radio when I unlocked the door. I press the unlock button on the key fob, opened the door and foundvthe radio turned on and music was playing automatically. There must be an option somewhere unless BMW coded it in the key fob, but why would they even do that.

None of the 5 BMWs (2 with CA) I've owned would operate the radio without the ignition being turned on. BMW even designates the first ignition position as "Radio Readiness".

What was the year and model of your loaner?

was it just when you first got in?

maybe it has CA but the porter didnt fully turn off the car or lock it, so the radio was still playing. and you went to "unlock" it to get it when it wasn't locked to begin with.

no it was definitely locked since it was locked all day at work and at the end of the night I unlocked the door, opened it up and the radio was already playing with the keys still in my hands
