Very tempted by this.......

OOOPS, sorry, should be in Off topic, can MODS please move. Thanks.

Audi TT 2.0 TSFI Black Edition (211ps), Apr 11, 4000 miles. Looks really good, perfect colour, if the figures stack up I am very interested waiting for dealer to get back to me. The emissions and economy figures look great too. Spec is good, with DVD Nav, Bose, AMI, Bluetooth, just missing heated seats and cruise, but CC can be retrofitted.

Peter, the wheels look big are they 19's? I like the TT but think I prefer Snooky's with the chrome grill and alloys over this one, but that's just me. Heated seats for me is not a show stopper if it's cloth/leather mix.

Hope you can put a deal together, business must be slow end December with everyone thinking Christmas.

Nice looking car, newer s line with beefed up front is better

Although they never inspired me as much as the first one, not sure what though.

I personally would prefer TTS, feels a bit more special over the gold gti, leon fr, scirroco which uses same engine

Not a Quattro, not sure that bothers me that much. Would be great if it was but not necessarily needing/wanting the 4WD.

There are 19"s, standard 'titanium look' on the Black Edition. It's got the Black styling pack, hence the deletion of chrome. Heated seats are a nice to have, the other item it is 'missing' is the rear park assist.

I think they are all keen to deal, pre new year.

Cheers Carlos It started about 10 years ago, and I have been called many things in my life, but never a hairdresser!

So is this the newer S Line? I would look at a TTS, but there is nothing in my price bracket that fits the bill.

This car is up for £25990, which makes it quite competitive compared to similar cars (Black Editions) on the Audi website, and it is the cheapest with DVD Nav, plus it is just 8 months old. I am going to look at a barnd new Ice Silver 2.0TDI Quattro Black Edition (with hfs and full leather) at Warrington Audi on Tuesday. It is their showroom car apparantly. Very keen to sell it to me, it has a £2800 discount (about 9%) without any real negotiation and they are offering £13000 for my 120d and it qualifies for the cheap finance rate on the 'Quattros'. It comes in at about £29800 after the discount though, so is it worth spending the extra on a brand new one, albeit a TDI. It is not 'my' colour, and I need to compare the monthly figure with the used one.

I am also looking at A5 Coupes again, which to be honest is more practical for my use, but they are just tantalisingly too expensive, it would have to be a MY12 Black Edition and the only one that comes remotely close is the 1.8TFSI engine.

New still means that it misses by budget by £50+

So if it's £50 a month or £600 per year if it makes you keep the car surely its worth the extra cash and far cheaper in the long run + flexibility to fit more than 2 people in the car.

You need to find a new car which is in the country (you probably already know this) and then a dealer who needs a couple of cars to hit the quarter , full year number and then tell them what you will pay for it and imo one will bite. You do this so often you know the game but with year end the right dealer will take your deal rather than having to pre register a car for stock.

Wise words, I will try my luck in Warrington on Tuesday, I know they have some MY11 and MY12 A5 Black Editions in stock. I always have to have an eye on what may happen 6-12 months down the line when I get an itch to change/sell, I need to buy at the right price to try and make sure I am not in negative equity on the finance. The TT does initially depreciate more than the A5, so it make make more sense, unless the black one I posted above comes in very very cheap

Do you know what Peter, that TT looks great (I prefer it to ones with chrome too so am with you on that).

But Gibbos advice is also very apt because surely (and much as I prefer the TT) an A5 is more suited to you because you have a family and will therefore have more chance of it lasting longer. There's only two of us and my lack of useable rear seats in the XKR can be frustrating when wanting to take friends out (the TT would be no better I imagine)!

Also, why when I buy a car do I get so much stick for the quantity of motors I buy when you are now looking at what would also be your 3rd (?) car in a year?? Mmmmm...pot, kettle, black springs to mind

EFA....I think I got it wrong! Won't this be your FOURTH car in around 12 months ( whatever you had before the 911, the 911, the 118d and now this???)

Here is a wee link to the thread from when I got my TT:

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=455199

Having had mine for about 13 months and 18,000 miles I must say I still love it. Average MPG to date of 49.8 (I do a fair bit of motorway driving) and it is quick with the quattro helping put the power down and I find it a really enjoyable drive.

I miss the soundtrack of a powerful petrol engine but, for a commuting car, it does everything really well.

I will be keeping this for another year which will make it the longest I have kept a car for many a year so it is doing something right.

Peter, I will be trying to get an equivalent A5 quattro when I do change as my boy is growing fast and the back seat will soon be too ickle for him!

Any q's etc on the TT, just shout!

My car buying habits are a little more modest than yours Andrew! Well, apart from the 911 maybe. I bought the 911 in early December last year, followed by the 120d in June, so it would be the 2nd car in 12 months, being a little pedantic

The TT would just be for me, not really the family car, my wife has the Mini Cooper (shared with my 19 yo daughter) and the V70 is for when we all go out and for the dogs. So, 95% of the time my car has only me in it, it would be useful for some flexibility to put my son's wheelchair in it on the rare occasion I would take him in it, the 120d struggles as the boot is a crap shape, strangely the wheelchair would probably fit flat in the hatch of the TT with the rear seats down.

So, although the A5 is bigger and offers some more flexibility it isn't really the deciding factor. I like the A5 a lot, if I had one though it would have to have Nav which adds a further £1800.

Thanks for the link to your thread Snooky, really useful!

Remember the A7 deals are seriously cheap at the moment.

3 x £360x24 on them for the 3.0tdi s-line.

However, my neighbour has just contract hired his wife a 2.0tdi s-line TT and they paid £249 a month for it including vat and that was with the mileage upped to 15k a year.

No nav, but the Audi nav can be bought for under £500 and simply plugs in, then put teh radio back in at the end and sell it on again.

That was with 6 months deposit at £249, so £1500.

249 per month for a TT sounds pretty decent. Is it a 2 year term?

Yeah, 3 year term took it up to £309 on 15k a year.

I guess selling it on an 09 plate with 30k is easier than selling an 08 plate with no warranty and 45k?
