yes. Also consider European Delivery. For that car you can probably get it for $33800 with European Delivery. That'd put you at about $37k after taxes and everything. $5k down, finance for 5 years/60months and your payment should be about $600 or so.

You'll save more with the 24 month plan but the monthly payments are gonna be astronomical in comparison. Principal alone will cost you almost $1600 a month before even considering the interest portion.

Thanks so you mean I will be paying about $3500 extra for the interest...So can i get 60mo plan first then switch to 24mo plan like 1-2 yr later? Will I save a little from the $3500?

yup. Everything is the same. THe only difference is that you must pick the car up in Germany. Most people use this opportunity for a vacation since it's pretty much "paid for".

Unfortunately you would have to pay more interest. However, you could always pay it off sooner or refinance it.

Careful there! Getting a European model is not the same as European Delivery. The steering wheel may be on the same side but there are features required by the US DOT that don't apply to, say, a German spec. You can import a German spec but before it can be licensed it would have to meet US specifications for safety and emissions. This itself would negate any cost benefits.

Getting a European Delivery is the same as getting it from you friendly neighborhood dealership but you order it, wait for it to be built, take delivery at the factory in Germany, drive it around on the continent for awhile (European Vacation?), deliver it to a port, wait a bit longer for the ship to stop at every port between Germany and the US, it arrives at one of the US ports, gets delivered to your local dealership and you pick it up, all the while saving quite a chunk. I believe BMW pays for the trans-Atlantic crossing or else it's built into the price you pay.

If you're dead set on getting a European model, though, you can always wait 25 years and import it without the safety and emissions requirements. But somehow I don't think you'd want to do this. By then the laws may be changed preventing this.
