Insurance for car

What would be your limit for car insurance, obviously depending on type of car.

Only asking as am looking at swapping out the BMW for something a bit different, I no longer do the mileage to warrant owning a diesel. Am looking at a S5, got a quote off of gocompare, cheapest being £1300, with a conviction. My 330d is better part of £900 as it is, I don't currently own a house or have a mortgage and am single so no massive expenditures, so what would be your limit? obviously it won't be a cheap car to run, but fun

Depends on your age, location and claims history more than anything else. Personally I wouldn't think twice about paying £1300 for insurance, but being fairly young I have always paid that kind of sum, regardless of the car I have at the time.

Our new house neighbour's got a black S5 and my mate owns a black one too - I must say, it's a very very handsome car. £400 a year is penny's in return for the extra driving pleasure you will get from the S5 - be warned though - the thing drinks juice for Germany!

Am 29 in March, so in my eyes, with a conviction, jumped a bloody red light, think that £1300 isn't to bad at all, will call Esure, my current insurers and see if they can better it. I think it's just a case of doing the sums to get one then to invest a lot of money in BP or an oil refinery

My insurance usually hovers at just under £1k but I spiked at £2,100 for the Masser (25 at the time), my cars have nearly always been group 19/20 but have been lucky by living in a decent area & having massive no claim discount. Collected 6 point (within 3 days of each other!) but this didn't make a massive difference.

I'd say go for it whilst you have no ties mate.
