Land Rover Discovery Remap??
Hey all,
Decided that the disco is staying a while longer - but thinking it needs an xmas pressie!! Have spoken to the guys at Evolve and they will do a remap for £300 this month, but then stumbled onto the superchips site and they are doing a remap inc the bluefin device for £455 - but its 20% off until Dec 31st - so £356 - but then i have a bluefin device to switch it back etc. Wondered if people had a view on either of these remaps or had used them? Budget was £300 - but £50 for the bluefin unit seems worth it if i go that way. Many thanks!

Superchips + Bluefin was excellent on my A3 and had quite a following in VAG circles. You'll hear/read plenty saying they're poor but usually it's totally ill informed 'my mate says...' type comments. Superb service and support from Superchips HQ too.

Is the Disco under warranty, if not, would you ever want to revert to standard?

I would go with an option to switch back yourself, it is much more convenient and gives you a choice if you ever want to remove the map. Great price with the 20% off, have you tried Evolve to see what they will do their Switch for?

Disco is an 07 so out of warranty - but it does have a warranty direct cover on it so if potentially if any work was needed through that it may need to revert to factory spec.
(and yep re people and hearsay - same thing re warranty direct when i was looking for opinions before i took that out, but took it out anyway - and 18 months later they paid out £2k on a new gearbox for my 330d in a very very painless process - hence me taking another warranty when the disco one ran out.)

LR specialist tuners with excellent reputations include:
Alive tuning and Alisport with a performance intercooler they go really well apparently..

Spoke to Imran ... unit is £448 ...
Think thats getting a bit too much as this is a 'nice to have' rather then a 'need' Will check out those other 2 tuners - heard about Alive before - but will check prices.
