Depends on your mod...
If you just have intake then no. If you just have an exhaust then no. If you just have an intercooler then no.

I'd say...Full Bolt Ons + Tune will have a good shot at it.

intake, down pipes, exhaust, and chip you will take an m6 as well. i am speaking for MT drivers here......i personally shift without the engine knowing that i disengaged the clutch lol. i took an M3 twice but all i have under my hood is a full intake. it depends on the driver unless you are doing drag racing at the track lol.

I actually hate these threads because the underdog ALWAYS say, "with dp, fmic, cobb, etc.. im WAY FASTER"...I own both a 08' e93 m3 manual, and 11' n55 e92 335i xdrive auto. Stock for stock, the m3 is faster, especially after 60mph, and handles better even in convertible form. Im sure you could mod a 335 faster, than a stock m3 ....and im sure if you supercharge a m3 it will be faster than a modded n55. they are both cool cars, both very fast but stock for stock n55 is no competition. I actually prefer my 335 as its better on gas, has tons of torque, and the 2011 idrive is so much better, and gains more from mod's than the m3.

M3's don't have torque; they're not designed to go in a straight line

my old 09 335i was faster than my current E93 M3 which is also pretty decently modded (all bolt ons...missing a super charger... )
but the 335i's torque is unbelievable

but I prefer my m3

i have a z4 35i...which i prefer over the m3 around town . smaller and easier to driver and park

With JB3 (have jb4 now), downpipe, and exhaust I beat an M3 by 2+ cars up to 100ish. Now I have meth, jb4, intercooler, exhaust, downpipe, chargepipe and some other things and have yet to race another M.

We have an E92 DCT M3 and E92 N55i Xdrive. Both stock. Not a chance in hell for the 335 unless it's on a short, curvy track, maybe even wet. As for a tuned 335 putting down 330-350 whp and near or over 400 ft lbs, likely. That'd certainly give the cool factor of beating an M, but everything else about the M would trump the 335 (other than Xdrive, which some probably don't like anyway). Personally, I'd grab the fob for the wife's M if she wasn't needing the car that day, and leave her the 335 just in case she needed to fetch groceries...

Speaking of 'other cars' I've been cheating on my brand new 335xi already. Been eyeing up the new C63 AMG coupe.

I don't understand how an n/a motor responds so well to mods but with full exhaust, t-stat, and tune it's putting down 600+hp. And according to MHP 0-60 in 3.2 seconds and good for mid/high 10's in the 1/4.

If this is true it may just be enough to sway me from my long term goal- the R35 GTR.

Been doing the same thing as well. That NA motor is just crazy.. GTRs need injectors and tranny and engine work to get what those stock NA motors can produce.

Gtr's need a tune and y-pipe to make 550awhp, with that they go 10.8-10.9 all day long. Good luck w the c63 coupe in doing that and lets not talk about taking turns.

It's a joke. I've always wanted to see how an n55 stacks up against a e92 m3.

Raced a few M3s in my car

With DCT Ms I would go back and forth between winning or loosing depending on the traction I got

But I'd walk 6MT Ms without a problem
