Can I get my deposit back?

I gave dealer $1,000 deposit. At the time car was ready for shipping in Munich. It is hard to find setup (315i, SP, SG, 6SM) and I agreed to MSRP. After reding many posts on this forum, I realized that I could've gotten better deal. Called 2 dealers today (75 miles away) and they agreed to knock off a grand of the MSRP. The question is how do I get my deposit back? Has anybody done this? I did sign "RETAIL BUYERS ORDER".

Any decent dealers will give you the money back and most BMW dealer are. Just tell them that you decide not to buy a new car now.

You should be able to do better than $1000 off from msrp. I am in the process of wraping up a deal that I only pay $800 over invoice which is about 3k less than MSRP. Good luck.

The law varies from state to state. In California all deposits are refundable. Florida may have different laws. You can do two things:
1. Negotiate with the ordering dealer in good faith. Let him know that you have discovered that other dealers are discounting the car $1000-$2000 under MSRP and hence offer to you on the MSRP was not fair. If the car is indeed rare and not someone the dealer will want to get stuck with, he will bend and at least give you a $1000 off.

2. Just cancel your order with the current dealer. After the car arrives, talk to some other dealer and ask them if they will get you the car. Chances are that your ordering dealer will be glad to get rid of the car which would have hard to sell otherwise and do a dealer transfer.

Personally, I would try the first approach since you already got the dealer to do the work for you. If the dealer values your relationship, he should give you a fair discount. If not, then you can just walk off and say bye bye to them.

Nice. I was actually trying to get 305i but they were out. All kidding aside, first digit is assigned to series, the other two are suppose to be engine volume. Therefore i am paying fot 325 but getting 330.

same situation

I'm in the same situation...
So I want to know if I would be able to get my security deposit back.

The only thing I've signed is the Retail Buyers Order (and I live in FL).

My car is pretty standard... 325i, Graphitte, Xenon, 6MT and Sports Package.

Is this form a binding contract?
