JB4 Map 2
I've been running map 1 since the install. The other day I tried out map 2 and find the increased boost much more enjoyable to drive, even just around town. I have an ER charge pipe coming to eliminate that failure.
My question: with no other mods, using 93 oct gas and taking it easy, is their any danger keeping it in map 2 ?

The reason map 2 requires you to have 93 octane and catless dp or high flow dp is because the increased back-pressure will harm the turbo's in the long run. Plus I believe map 2 advances timing more than map 1, something that may cause problems when your turbo backpressure builds up and heats everything up.
I doubt you'll see a problem if you run map 2 for a few WOT's here and there. But it's probably not something I would risk. Ultimately it's up to you. |
