(yes, finally---wanted to do that for that since I have been on here and someone always beats me to it, sorry beemers3)

How wide are the rears? 8.5, 9.0 or 9.5?

hi mesier1111,
the rear is 8.5 and front is 8.0.... i actually order the size 235 40 18 in the front but they got it wrong and bring in 225 40 18 instead..... damn!!!! but i believe with 265 it will understeer slightly more since staggered wheel are to prevent oversteer....

That's a bigtime NO! Your tyres will fall off your rims causing tons of damage to your ride.

you can, I think I saw someone here's done it with their 162 setup. It also depends on tire brand, some tires are a little wider than some eventhough they are of the same size.

I think 265 is fine.
