I am sorry, but this has got to be one of the dumbest things I have heard of. There will definitely be a water problem getting into the E-Box on an N54. Not so much on an N55 (because there is no DME there, but there is wiring), but it can cause water to run down the back of the intake into the DME on the N55 (Which is actually a big problem on E70/71s). Not only that, water/debris into the blower ducts if you do not use the microfilter.Just buy an AFE or Injen intake, and a tune if you want your turbo sound to be louder.

Agreed.

I talked with one my of techs and the first words out his mouth were "Sounds like a great way to short out the blower motor".

Exactly!

Also when I say debris, I do not just mean small rocks and dirt. Im talking, leaves, acorns, bugs all that fun stuff!

Then I can see the next thread coming. "My Blower and/or DME crapped out, and my dealer wants me to pay. BMWs suck and so does my dealer!" lol
