Found a Body today

I found half a body washed up on Seaford beach today ,

Only the head and rib cage , It was bloody awful skin hanging off like something from a horror film.

I was proper curious and had a proper look it had hardly any teeth makes me think it was a broken coffin from a sea burial as the local Trawler skippers tell yarns off getting body's in there trawls and throw them back due to the hassle, Newhaven is one off the ports that have a licence to do burials at sea.It is only 3 miles down the coast.

The PC said hed put money on a suicide from the severn sisters /beachy Head cliffs .

My suggestion was discounted as he said why no clothes they dont bury you naked ,I am thinking what about the arms and legs if the sea had broke them off surely a bit off clothing ?

I just had a google but I guess it is to soon to be in the local paper.

Could be one of the 5 sailors from the Swanland that lost their lives at sea last month. Was unloading a sister ship before christmas and none of them have been found yet. Not a nice find.

It was clear from the behaviour of the first officers on site it isnt something they deal with every day .

The Woman that found it and took me over to it said she goes beach combing every day and was shocked ,The english channel has been rough for the last 24 hrs but this morning the wind has dropped right off ,they may find the rest today but I doubt it.

The thing that is bothering me was the skin,it was all removed off the skull and rib cage and was all sort off round the neck like a scarf, proper weird.

Pictures ,I think the officers would have taken a very dim view. The bit that amused me above everything yesterday was we had a Lady working with us acting as a Banksmen keeping people away from the machines she had gone up to Tescos to buy coffee tea milk etc,On her return she asked what was the fuss all about,I explained and her first thought was to go and open the welfare unit and make Tea and Coffee for all the Police.

I had to explain two Managers from Asset Managment were out and about and as they are Paying £450 per day for each Machine operator would go mental if the banksmen was running a coffee shop. She is fucking mental and just didnt get it .

update

The police forensic team were there yesterday and found one Rib .

I had a chat with the guy in charge ,he asked what colour were the bones , White yes I replied he explained it would be fairly new then,He then said they have a data base off 22,000 missing persons in the UK with DNA records it would take several weeks to explore that avenue .

He said in his opinion it would be a suicide victim from Beach Head that had its bones broken in the fall and the wave action just broke it up nice.He said if you find anymore bits give us a call .

Dissapointed it didnt even make the local rag, he said they think about 25 people a year go off the top and some are never found .
