in the diesel club :)

well we had our x3 in for service last week .. gave me a diesel 3 loaned for the wknd and I kinda ... fell in love. so picked one up and I am SO happy with it, deep sea blue / oyster/black interior - c/w, premium, sport, navi, Harmon/kardon, paddle shift, apps, etc. just incredibly happy, first diesel and first auto in awhile. Happy to be here !!

Same here. BMW dealership employee for 7 years. Worked in service as a porter, tech assistant, warranty coder, service advisor assistant, service advisor, sales assistant and then client advisor.

After all that I don't work for the dealer anymore and I really miss it.

Lol I'm not gonna rat anyone out I'm just as much of an enthusiast as most of you lol, I used to be on nissan forums (I had a Maxima) Nd the people that worked at dealers were always SO helpful, so figure id do that favor for this community instead. i don't know a LOT about the engines (but certainly enough) but I know tons about the bodies and frames, taking apart putting together, electronics in the car, shortcuts tricks hidden features etc I've been up to BMW headquarters in NJ was there for awhile, got the runaround there (VERY interesting, I was in awe) but yeah I love my bmws and I would drive nothing else.

@park .... wait WHAT!? haha that's too funny I was on Maxima.org as well... for a good 7 years now and I just posted my farewell post .. lol that's crazy.
i will post pics like I promised and as far as gas mileage I've been getting anywhere from 24-28 mixed driving but over 30 on the highway - I'm not sure how much over 30 I haven't done much over 500 miles yet. but this is amazing to me - being that my maxima wasn't reaching much over 20 even highway and the x3 is pretty much in the same boat. damn, I LOVE my lil diesel

I had an 02 blk on blk 6 speed. Miss that car a little.

After I got around 4,000 miles my average is near 32mpg each tank. Freeway trips to Vegas get me 35.

With 9K on the car I also have been averaging around 32 MPG. Was purchased used (dealer loaner) and have not had it long enough to take any long trips. Interestingly enough the OBC MPG reading is low. I have been getting about 1.5 MPG better than displayed when calculated (4 fill-ups so far). Easily got 500 miles on one tank.

@park that's a sweet car ... best year IMO. I went thru a few Maxis ... '00 5speed ... '02 autotragic.... and the one recently '04 6speed. I'm getting used to the (much) smaller 3series but all of the other pro's of this car outweigh the smaller size.
