CT BMW dealers
I'm relocating to Connecticut, any positive or negative experiences with the dealers there?
Which ones do you recommend? Any names on the salesperson you liked? Got any deals off MSRP on the E92 335i? Thanks. |

Countyline in Watertown CT is a great dealership. I don't recommend New Country.

I switched from Greenwich to Darien and I live in Greenwich so that says a little bit about the two dealers, and my family previously got 2 cars from greenwich. So as you could imagine I recomend Darien and if you are really interested i can give you a salesman's name, because I dealt with two guys there and one was leaps and bounds above the other so you wanna make sure to get the right salesman

Bridgeport BMW
I got my 335 sedan from Bridgeport BMW. I dealt with Lance and he gave me 1900 of the sticker, not a bad deal. Its a smaller dealership but I had a great experience purchasing there.

is it normal in the US to pay MSRP for 335i coupe? It seems like the agent I talked too is not willing to discount, saying how it is a high demand, and if he sells it lower, I may never get the car since those willing to pay higher will cut in line first.

The 335i coupes have been going for list price, however if I sold one for less than list at my dealership in NJ, nobody would cut in line because they are willing to pay more. You would be next in line no matter what deal we made. That is bad business to allow or suggest allowing someone to beat you to your allocation. I would be able to show a little consideration, it's been a crazy situation with supply and demand recently.

I bought my car from Lance @ BMW of Bridgport paid $1500 over invoice... I would recommend him to anyone...
Also, I brought the car in for service and was honestly the best experience I've ever had with any car dealer for service...

Lance is a great guy to deal with, laid back guy, no pressure. Sometimes a little hard to get in touch with though. Bought three cars from him. Followed him to Bridgeport BMW after he left Westchester BMW.

BMW of Bridgeport is on day 5 of repairs for my dad's 530xi "waiting for a cable" that was shorting out his battery.
So service may be slow there... |

Connecticut dealers
I have experience with just about every Connecticut dealer. Greenwich is the best, and North Haven the worst with Bridgeport a close second worst.
Greenwich is probably the best. They have the best service center by far, and they work with you on price. They are also able to do a complete deal by fax. They are not that quick to respond to phone calls, but all in all they are pretty good. North Haven is BY FAR the absolute worst! They refuse to bargain meaningfully, and they have an attitude about them that they don't care about you or your business. Bridgeport is second worst. I first dealt with Lance and I thought he was helpful, but then I called up and it turned out to be Lance's day off and another sales person named Joe tried to steal the deal. Personally I don't like those back handed tactics. FURTHER, Bridgeport service is TERRIBLE! I had to bring my car there twice to fix the same things on my brand new 07, and it still wasn't fixed. I had to bring it to Greenwich to get it straight. Hartford's dealer (I forgot the name) is pretty nice. It's large and the sales people are helpful. I have no experience with pricing though. Watertown's dealer is WAYY to small for me to feel comfortable at. It is very cramped, the dealers seem like novices as opposed to true professionals. To give you an idea of the size of this dealer, it is probably just a tad bit larger than a starbucks. There is one dealer in New London that is very friendly, but very unwilling to work on price. |

I'm right there with you... it is actually my closest dealer, but it's way too small & cramped to be considered a dealership. They were nice there though. |

If you dont care about making a small drive go to Wide world of cars in Spring Vally NY. Its just over the connecticut border but they are way cheaper in my experinces with other dealers around well worth lookign into.

WWOC is a decent dealership. You have to hope that their service is better considering they sell Ferrari there as well

Why do people tie car service with dealers? I always considered them to be separate. Get the best deal you can anywhere, and get ur service at a convenient place or the place that gets it right.
While we are on the subject, which are the best and worst places to service the car? |
