My poor, poor rims... (Irvine BMW sucks)

After 3 days of delays dealing with a dead battery and engine problems, I get a call from my service rep about an \"incident\", and that they\'ll need the car for two more days for repair work. I went in to check it out and found this:

Luckily, they admitted their error and are buying me a replacement rim, so I'm not too mad

UPDATE: After months of delays, they never payed me back or replaced the wheel. I left several messages and received countless fake promises from service reps and managers, but nothing. Yet another local customer they've lost forever.

In trying to hold them responsible for their failures, I left them a nice, long Yelp! review:

Oo thanks I never even thought about that. I'll talk to the dealer and make sure I get a new.

I don't know what they backed into but it sure wasn't a curb. It took part of the lip and bent it completely over. There's a good dice sized chunk of metal is misplaced.

This definitely doesnt happen by backing into something, there is clearly speed involved in order to get a bend and crack like this. If i was you, id look into more then getting tire and rim replaced. Check suspension damage as well, and ask them why the F!@$ they were driving your car.

They were driving it to verify the choppy acceleration I was complaining about (even though it was supposedly fixed last time). But yeah I'll have them looker deeper into it now. I love the wisdom of the forum!!

Well, even if they don't cover, that's why you buy reps - cheap replacements.

you need to check the axle, alignment this is a case of a joy ride gone wrong or he was entering a plaza or the dealer and jumped the curb

Well at first they told me they were going have someone try to repair it, but that was before I saw it in person. That's what the 2 days were for. But I needed my car for new years and I'm not old enough for a rental so I made them agree to replace it and give me the car til Monday. When I first ordered my rims it took almost a month to receive them, so I know the 2 day thing won't apply anymore. I just hope I don't have to wait a month again with my disfigured rim!

Do they still need to check the alignment if it's a rear wheel? I think I forgot to mention that earlier.

I did something that looked the same to one of my rims - just caught it on the edge of a raised manhole cover, nice square steel edge of the manhole cover was just high enough to carve a nice chunk out of the lip - good luck with the fix!
