That's the time you really need a fire suit

Glad to see the Ferarri driver get out of the car. As if the crash weren't bad enough, they had to add that morbid sounding background music. |

It was Tetsuya Ota driving the ferrari and he lived but with 3rd degree burns over 40% of his body. This video is shot at Fuji Speedway May 3, 1998. Another youtube vid has the full footage of him pulled out and taken away. He won 90 million yen (about $750,000 US$)in 2003 but had sought 300 million yen for negligence by organizers.

Yeah, definately a terrible crash. I read about this one and saw a picture of his helmet after the crash.....completely charred. He spent about a minute in the car unconcious as it was engulfed in flames, absolutely a miracle that he survived the crash!

That's really, really sad. What the hell are they doing racing in such low visibility? Also, where are the medics, as opposed to the fire crew (who'll drop a guy to go take care of some other sh*t)? I guess I don't know much about racing, but this really seems sub-par and pisses me off!

There wa no visibility to the yellow flag, I don't think it was anything but an accident, no one's fault. They should have had a yellow out until there was visibilty.
