High Mileage Lease...How do my numbers look?

Agreed Price $46423 (ED 335i Coupe-Price plus Aq. fee of 825 and $28DMV fee)
Cap Cost Red -$2146 ($3500 down includes first payment, lic, cap cost red tax, dmv fees)
Adj. Cap Cost $44276
Residual $25036
MF .0026

3 Year/25K/year miles on lease. Payment of $721+$56 tax.

Good, Bad or Ugly? Never leased before but this seems somewhat reasonable reviewing some of the other leases with 15K miles/year leases.

Thanks Guys.

I was not aware BMW FS writes leases for more than 15,000 miles per year.

How are you getting 25,000?

Also, are you putting money down to lower the capitalized cost? If so, that is not wise.

I just put money down to reduce the monthly payment. Should I have done no money down?

Everyone says that if you put money down and then total the car all the money you put down is gone. As far as I know, theres no advantage to putting money down. Either you pay them a lump sum and pay less each month to make yourself feel better or you dont pay a lump sum and instead pay more each month.

I think residual works out 55 percent.

Residual should be 58% unless it's different for ED. Maybe it's lower because of the 25k miles per year. But seriously, 25k miles per year is a lot.

MF is quite high.

US MSRP on your car is $50,425 so you saved about $4k. Your agreed price is about US invoice.

I just figured if I did a purchase w/ 8800 down I would have roughly the same payment as the lease on a 5 year term based on 6.9%. Thats only 5k more down but I would own the car outright after only two more years and of course no mileage or penalties associated. I might just do that instead. Whadya guys think.

mf, acquisition fee

Acquisition fee is $625 from BMWFS, the extra $200 is dealer profit.

This on an E92?!? BMWFS is offering a .00190 MF on the 335i coupes. Anything above that probably goes to the dealer.

I just wrote a 10k/year, 36-month, 64% residual lease for a 335i sedan for $476 a month *including* CA sales tax (agreed price was $41,800, which is $2k over invoice for the car I chose).

You can do a lot better, I think.

I got killed when I leased with high mileage and they made out when I put low mileage on leased vehicles. Needless to say, I don't lease anymore.

Lease or buy, doesn't matter. I don't lease...ever.

One thing i don't like about leasing is that there is a mileage limit. 25k miles per year is close to normal for me.

The lease numbers look to be what i'd expect from a 25k/yr setup.

I've leased as many cars as I've bought. The only reason for leasing is to get into a new car every so-many years. Otherwise buy.

If you come up with 4-5K more for a downpayment over the lease downpayment you could finance the car for that much

It's probably part of her job?

I commute everyday to work about 20-25 miles both ways and drive everywhere on weekends, I still end up around the 15k mark.

Lease is good (you lose less money) if you own business and MF is low, otherwise it comes out almost the same

Do you REALLY need 25k/year? I dont know if you are aware, but BMW allows you the option of purchasing more miles during your lease at anytime up to 6 months before lease end. Why dont you get a 10k/yr lease(cheapest option) and just buy miles when you feel you need them(this is what Im doing). This way you arent paying for miles you might never use. You still have the option of purchasing the vehicle at the end if you want to keep it.

Anyone got decent deal on 50K MSRP car?
I'm ready to order, but based on options my car is about 52K MSRP
ED price is about 46K
So it came to to $720/mo for 36m, 12K, ED
Anyone paying less for 52K car?

p.s. sorry for highjacking

I think you're gonna get slaughtered with a high mileage lease.

My monthly payment on a 330xi purchase is only a bit above yours, 60-month term, but I'll own the car.

Also, that ED price seems high unless you have every single option including the radar cruise...

you will certainly get popped for the high mileage. you could try doing a lease for 15k and then buy an additional 30,000 miles at .15 (at the end it is .2) If you did that, you can figure on the mileage being around 125/month additional on the 15k lease. The nice thing about this way is if you buy additional miles mid-lease they will actually buy any unused miles back at the end (down to 15k/yr).
