To change Oil or Not
I haven't changed my oil in oh about 11,000 miles. I now have all the tools (filter kit & oil, rhino ramps, strap wrench, etc) and really want to change it tonight but have about 3800 miles left till the next (and last) FREE warrantied oil change.
Should I change it myself now, or wait until the warranty change, then start regularly changing it every 7,500 miles or so? Or, should I do both? I've poured 3 quarts of oil in there over the last 4 months, so I know it's dying for a change. What would you do? |

Are you at 12months? Dealer will change it once per year regardless of mileage.

I totally forgot about the year rule, you're right.
I checked and last had it done in December 2010. I can save the oil/filter for my out of warranty changes..Thank you |

I would be more concerned about the engine needing that much oil added over such a short period of time.
Ask them to investigate before your warranty is up. |

Yes, although turbos run hotter and burn oil, the oil consumption does appear to be high. Perhaps leaking seals? Get it looked at. Also, if you are near 45K miles, you should get your spark plugs changed.
