WeatherTech Digital Fit Mats

Hey gang,

I picked up some new weather tech digital fit mats for my 1M and I need to figure out a way to anchor them to my car. The factory mats are velcro based... How do people install 3rd party floor mats in these cars? Am I stuck rigging some sort of velcro attachment to the bottom of my new mats, or is there a better way?

I have the same mats, I just put velcro on the mats and installed them. It worked great.

You may be able to buy the velcro circles from your dealer and glue them to the WeatherTech mats.

I believe that the part you posted is the part that goes in to the carpet, not that goes on the mat.

I just bought Velcro at Home Depot, affixed it to the bottom of the liners.

Ok, thanks. I'm not sure... I only saw it listed on RealOEM.com

The last time I bought my rubber euro BMW mats(they are slightly different from the US rubber ones)... they came with an extra set of velcro "stuff". I just can not remember what all came in the bag. lol Velcro is velcro - so it does not matter where you buy some from.

I ordered a set of those a while ago. They came with a little plastic hook that screws into the place where the velcro was. I just unscrewed the velcro, and installed the hook.

Same here. Much more secure than the Velcro you guys are talking about.

Cheapest way would be crappy tire or home depot and get a roll or Velcro tape... I planned on hitting the Burlington showroom next weekend. How do they fit? Worth buying?

Wha? The weather techs CAME with these hooks?? I gotta empty out the box and verify, but I didn't see any hooks.

On a side note, do you guys know if the 135i convertible rear digital fits fit our 1M rears?? I'm using the BMW rear mats and would like to switch...

I've got a roll of velcro tape, might give it a shot! Assuming there's no hook in the box!

I've always used Digital Fits on my cars and love the way they cover every inch of the carpet... But I must say, they could have done a better job with the 1M version. In the past, I just throw it in and it has no where to go... There's a lot of movement with these. Maybe it's because of the floor mounted gas pedal... I'm sure that once I strap it down it'll be fine.

Ultimately, it's probably the best choice for a clean look and a clean car. I'd definitely recommend it. I use these year round in my cars, never had a problem. You pull them out and clean them. Even in the summer I'd worry about people tracking dirt onto the carpeted mats...

My set for the 1M didn't either, but another set for another car did a few years back Maybe they stopped including them.

i've been using the digital fit floorliner without any clips or velcro for the past 3 years... They still fit like gloves. Unless yours are all weather floormat, otherwise don't bother putting velcro on

the digital fit mats should have come with the floor hooks. i received mine a couple months ago and they came with. just pop the hooks into the carpet and attach mats. call weathertech and i'm sure they'll send some hooks out to you asap. they've got pretty good customer service.

I got my digital fit floor mats when they first released them back in late '08 or early '09. They did not include floor hooks. Although, they do not move around much at all.

I've contacted them, requesting hooks... Let's see what they say.

The dealer was no help, they just showed me the two methods they had to attach a velcro disc to the carpet....

The Digital Fits are pretty good, but after 1 hour in stop and go traffic, I have to pull back the driver's mat since I can feel it moving towards the gas pedal. It only moves a like half an inch, and hasn't interfered with the gas pedal, I just find it annoying at this point...

Question Why risk it?

No matter how snug the digital mats are, I think it could be dangerous if the mat did end up wedged against your accelerator. Don't understand why WeatherTech would risk that liability by not sending them anymore??? It is obvious they were designed to be used with the hooks.

Here's what mine look like WITH hooks from WT:

I got my digital fits last November and they did not come with hooks either. The problem with mine is it slides forward and pins down the clutch. I haven't had any problems with the accelerator.

Was anyone successful in getting the hooks sent after the fact?

They should invest more in customer service instead of buying 4-5 pages of adds each month in the car magazines...

Don't hold your breathe. I emailed them 3 months ago and never got a responce.

I've never looked under my carpet mats completely, but from what I saw, no hooks, only Velcro...another difference between us and can maybe?

FWIW I got the OEM BMW 1M rubber mats. They fit perfectly and use the stock Velcro attachments.
