Car says oil change overdue at 300 miles

I couldn't find anything on this, but my car wants an oil change already and the odometer is only at 300 and change. Has this happened to anyone else and what was the result?

Never mind. Just did a better search, found out it's normal and happening to everyone.

Just for the record. Simply programmed in the factory: build date + X weeks. The system does not take into account that the 1M might be on display at the dealer for a couple of weeks. What matters is the 1200 miles or 2000 km mark.

My 1M was warning me at the time of delivery when the dealer gave his explanation (12km on the odometer - June build - July/August display - September delivery).

You can re-set the service due lights yourself. It is quite easy to do. Here is how...

DIY resetting service "due" lights…

Just FYI. Any New ///M car requires an oil change after 2000 km or 1200 miles. Mine came up with 12 km as well and the oil service light came up.
