Stores Main on Key Fob

I guess I knew maintenance records were saved on our keyfob but does it matter who performs the maintenance??

The dealer recommended that I needed a brake fluid change/flush as it had been 2 years.

(I wasn\'t going to pay the stealership 100.00 to do it)

So, I performed the service and reset the light on the car.

So here is the question, once I reset it, I assume it must transmit that to the keyfob that the service was done....??

Is this based in the car telling the key it was done (based on me resetting the light) or when I go to the dealership, hopefully never again, and they plug my key in there little key reader will it show that I need service again?

Not sure if my question is clear or not: basically does the car tell the keyfob to reset (after I reset it) or does the dealer reset the interval on the keyfob after they perform the service?

Thanks

The key fob only shows what maintenance is due. If you did the flush and reset the CBS, the fob will be updated accordingly and it will not show up as an overdue service next time the fob is read (unless another 2 years goes by...).
