i am looking for a reliable, clean, fast, overal best tint shop in the tri state area. looking for either huper optik or pinnacle f1 30 or 35%. any opinions?

Tom from the art of tint is the only huper optik dealer in the tristate area. great guy, does awesome work. i've had three cars tinted by him with HO and couldnt be happier with the results.

thanks for your reply. hopefully you can help me with some qs if you dont mind.

1. how long did it take for them to install all around?
2. what % did you get and how do you like it?
3. how are the matrix dots and did they remove the entire led unit on the back windshield or just tint around it?
4. would you happen to know if they tint the entire windshield by opening the door panel or just the upper window?
5. lastly how is the area there? i have never heard of the place art of tint is. roads nice there?
6. mind telling me how much you paid?

1) i dropped it off at 10 am, went to work, picked it up at 2pm. i think it took about 3 hours to do.

2) i got huper 30, same as on all my past cars, so i do like it. its 35%

3) i have a sedan, so no problems with the dot matrix. he removed the 3rd brake light and tinted the whole rear window.

4) tom works for a bunch of bmw dealerships so he has the 3 series down pat. he can remove the gasket without taking off the door panel. he also felted the gaskets front and rear so i dont have any scratched tint issues.

5) tom works out of two shops, 212 motoring in brooklyn on the weekends, and a shop on 50th st and west side highway during the week, not sure of the name. i went to the one in manhattan.

6) 450 for the whole job.

Thanks man. i think i will be going to tom. so the rear led light got removed, tinted and put back on? the tint shop around me will tint around it which is like ok if you do that it will either be perfect or not.

4 hour job at $450 is great considering other people say they paid $500.

wat exactly are the dot matrixes? they are the dots that appear based on tint job?

lastly did they remove the door and tint the entire glass or just the top part where it is needed?

when you say huper 30 u mean 30% tint? you say 30 and 35% tint..confused, care to claify please?

tint goes down to below the gaskets. its tinted all the way to the edge of the glass. huper 30 is actually 35% visible light transmitted.

so if huper 30 = 35% my guess is huper 25= 30%?

lol just to make sure am i correct?

for those with tints, did you get the whole door panel removed and get entire glass tinted? is just tinting the top ok where necessary? for the rear winshield i think removing the led signal and tinting entire thing is best then doing around?

Huper Optik comes in 50/40/30/20. combined with the tint in the glass, it comes to those numbers. the actual tint is about 5% lighter than the number.

so 50 is 55, 40 is 45, 30 is 35, 20 is 25

maybe, i remember it wasnt too popular six years ago when i got my first HO tint job done. 30% is dark enough for me and still looks classy. i never asked about 20% in recent memory as 30% was what i was after.
