Docking Cradle for Z4

Anyone installed a phone docking cradle in their Z4?

I intended to set up the dock for the Bluetooth phone but after buying a new V3m Razor phone (which BMW said was compatible) I found out that a Z4 cradle is not available for that unit. The parts manager at my dealer told me the V3m is just a little too wide for the Z4 console door opening.

The parts and installation quote was ridiculous, several hundred bucks if I remember right. The console door has to be changed and some other nonsense as well.

This kind of thing annoys me on a car that costs $40k. You'd think that an iPod connector and a simple phone dock could be included, not to mention the lack of a Homelink gizmo for your garage door. This area is where the Japanese are years ahead of BMW.

Got bluetooth, and it works OK with my Moto V3. But making/receiving calls in the car is a big drain on the phone battery. So if I'm on a long drive I power the V3 via coiled cord to the lighter.

Would be much nicer to simply drop the V3 into a dock in the console. Also, I understand that by doing so you use the car's antenna (instead of the phone's), which should give better reception.
