LED eyelids

Just wondering if the LED eyelids on our headlights are replaceable. I seem to remember reading that they were not but wanted confirmation. I'm asking because my passenger side just went out.

Went out or got broken? Since it is new, it should be replaced under warranty. But if it is the latter I'm sure it can be replaced one way or another.

It just went out, my question is can the bulb for the eyelid be replaced or do they switch out the entire housing?

IM pretty sure the bulb gets replaced. It wouldnt be smart to engineer something that wasnt easy to repair.

Likely just a bulb.

When you find out, do let us know, perhaps for those running the 'bluer' LUX AEs they can get a bulb for the LED braw to match the intensity of the LUXs

as I had suspected the LED eyebrow cannot be replaced by a bulb and it is integrated into the headlight housing. My dealer explained that the LED eyebrow had been shut off by the car's ECU to prevent damage to itself and it was fixed by a reset. Unfortunately it has gone out again so I'm taking it back in.

Huh, that is interesting. LED's generate next to no heat and last nearly forever. I wonder what the ECU thinks is wrong.

So does that mean if the eyebrow goes kaput, the entire headlight needs changing? If so, time for you to order the Euro spec ones

You would think. I had a late model Audi A4 that required REMOVAL of the front bumper to replace one of the headlight BULBS! I could not believe it.
