Apologies if this is a repost, just got here this weekend as I just ordered my M3.

If not hope this is of interest to some people as my dealer (Leeds) just gave me it so I can mull over the options I want.

How about asking your dealer?

Universal remote control is three buttons on the rear view mirror which can be programmed to open things such as electric garage doors. (Worthwhile if you have a use for it).

Comfort access is the ability to open the car and start it without taking the key out of your pocket. (Worth speccing).

Climate comfort screen is a special type of glass which helps to stop the sun heating up the interior. (Not worth it).

Sliding front armrest means that the armrest is split longitudinally, with the section nearest the driver moveable backwards and forwards. (Not worth it but I will probably spec it).

High gloss shadow line is the black trim around the outside of the windows made extra shiny. It comes matt black as standard. (Not worth it).

not to sure bout tv as i have the alpine dvd, sat nav & tv in my car, dont watch or use much of the tv signal isnt brilliant but its not like you gonna get MTV SKYSPORTS or MOVIES, but the dvd is really handy i burn loadz of stuff on my dvd recorder at home music movies etc n if i get trapped into shopping i drive park n watch a movie etc while wife does shopping, but if the tv option is gonna be digital may be worth it, but id rather make use of the AV input on the car and connect a portable device to it. i hope the PDC is for the front as i assume the rear is standard and the front is option? also my dealer was saying by the time the 4 door is available march 08 that damper option is gonna probably be standard any 1 else heard this?

It will be £50,626. Don't think this is really official yet though. Using the known prices for the E60 M5 in the US and UK and using these to ratio the price puts the US base price at $64,700. I think this ratio method is closer to what we will actually see with the SA prices which gave us $56.2k USD. Perhaps the UK cars will come with many more std. options than SA?

Can you please post the official option codes as well. Your wording/abbreviations do not allow me to compare directly with South African option prices with official BMW designations. Thanks.

Thats true, hoefully it will be like SA prices, but i think base price in US will be between 55K-60K

My order form dated 25th May 2007 says the price for the car, without options, is £49,680.00 inc VAT.

So does mine, but the OTR price with registration, tax, delivery and fuel is £1,005 more, making a total of £50,685.

Does anyone else think £350 for "High Gloss Shadow Line" is the biggest rip-off ever? WTF?!!!! (Still bought it 'cus the matt finish looks awful !)

£598 delivery and £50 registration fee, just noticed there is £300 on for bodycare. Better off with having it swissolled?

High gloss is a big con! On the E46 coupe sport, high gloss was standard, and the m3 was standard too. I cant believe they want to charge for different paint. Its marketing by bmw milking it. scott26 maybe you can justify why this paint is so expensive.

High gloss appears to be standard on the M-sport E92's.

Frankly I would rather they just added £350 to the price without me having to know that one bit of plastic costs £350 more if it is a bit shinier than the
other!

I would love to hear BMW's attempt to justify the cost
