335i + Continental Extreme Contacts DWS + Dinan = Slippery
Hi Everyone,
Like most of you, I ditched my stock RFTs on my 2009 335i Convertible after 15k miles on them (about a year and a half ago) and decided to get the Continental Extreme Contact DWS set. For the first 10k, I have been really happy with them overall but do miss the stiffer ride. I upgraded the car with a few Dinan components and the extra torque/HP is giving my tires a hard time. Every corner I take, they break out and the car slips. Any acceleration from standstill results in the same weavering. In rain (and we don't have a lot of that here in Texas lately), the tires slip at all times. Lots of thread left on them though. I got the 19" sport-M package. Any suggestions? Thanks, Michael |

The only solution is to get better tires. No-seasons like the DWS' aren't going to be great in any type of driving situation. They'll only be average at best in wet, snow, or dry.
If you want a sticky tire that will hold under power or while accelerating through a corner, start looking at high-performance, summer-specific tires. |

Summer tires try;
Michelin PSS Pirelli Pzero Continental ExtremeContact DW When I had my OEM 19s I stepped up to a slightly wider size as well. Front 235/35R19 Rear 265/30R19 The wider sizes will help you with grip as well.

FWIW, I get around with my Hankooks. My door jamb indicates that at speeds up to and over 100mph, psi needs to increase to 39psi Front/45psi Rear. I like Hankooks and Conti DW because they are high value tires. Besides, others like Hankook, too, and are using them on their cars, as well. Hahaha If price is no object, I would go with Michelin Super Sports next time. Tire diameter front and back needs to be consistent to prevent speedo error, IMO. If you change sizes, you should have: 225/35/19 Front, 265/30/19 Rear, or +1 at 235/35/19 Front, 275/30/19 Rear

I dont know why you went with the all season DWS in the first place instead of the summer DW when you live in Texas...
