EVO review of 1m after a visit to DMS
Hi Guys,
Anyone seen this yet. I\'ve been to two shops today to buy the magazine to read the review and they didn\'t sell EVO. Can anyone with a copy post it up? 405bhp Regards, Firthy |

Erm someone removed their post. Said it was downloadable online so I subscribed and it's not on there!!
Should be online soon though surely. I've also emailed dms. I'm thinking that extra power will be just right for me then in the 1m. Who's the mystery dms beneficiary then, are we gonna have a review straight from the horses mouth Firthy. |

I was speaking to Nick Trott (Evo editor) a few weeks ago as he was going to use my car for the piece, but my 1M owning friend had already been chosen by DMS
My car and his car are putting out slightly more than what's reported in Evo his car made 415bhp and mine 408bhp. I think his torque was 470 lb/ft and mine 485 lb/ft Oh and we both have white 1M's |

You should join the one on BabyBMW if you're up North.

Not sure if the cost has changed as the Evo article says £954 whereas I paid £900.
RSMatt - our cars are the same but I believe his had a few more miles on than mine at the time so that could have made a difference. Also the stock figures recorded do differ. Mine stock was 349bhp but I think the car featured in Evo might have been closer to 360bhp stock. However my stock and remapped torque was higher so it's swings and roundabouts. Clive - I'd love to do a RR day I've had mine on two separate dynos and have recorded the same figures give or take a few BHP here or there. However my torque has been consistent between 485-490 lb/ft |

So your car makes very close to 666 nm of torque after the tune! That is hell of a (I mean literally hell) interesting and stimulating number
For too young to remember people: 666, number of the beast ... and the song goes on. |

Quick! Don't be that shy Chris. F10 M5 makes 680 nm and it is a full family of fat people heavier than the 1M (1495kg 1M, 1870kg M5, difference is 370kg). X5M and X6M has the same torque of M5, they are both 2305kg. which is another car added on top of 1M. All numbers I quote from German web site deducting the driver and gas in the tank (EU norm) which adds 75kg. So these are official base car DIN numbers.
Did you try to test the accelaration and more interestingly the in gear times of your car? If you are with tires which can cope with that tune, you might be able to do some crazy crazy numbers. |

Are the numbers being quoted at the wheels or at the crank? I don't understand how 485 ft-lbs is close to the new m5 unless you are talking wheel measured power. If so that is HUGE!
Plese forgive me but I'm not familiar with DMS, they are a tuner in UK right? What all did you add to the car for 900 pounds to give you that kind of power? (Also, since I am asking so many questions where is the 'L' pound money sign on the keyboard? ) |
