Talking It is finally here.

Dear fellow 1M addicts,
I am happy to announce that I have finally joined the 1M club. My lovely VO 1M arrived at the dealership last weekend. I had all the papers ready but couldn't receive it due to work until 1/2/2012. I just want to thank all the users who gave me the words of encouragement to go for the car without seeing it in person or having test driven it.

The car is phenomenal. I know I can't add more than what has already been said by so many before me. I simply love it. I got it with 9 kms on the odo. It is fantastic! I don't dare go over 3,000 rpm up until now. It has 58 Kms on the odo now. BMW Apps are pretty sweet! My iphone tells me how much gas I have hehe. I can't wait to see what it can really do once the break in period is over. Any tips on break in?

I will post up more pictures soon. Sadly I had bad luck with my towhook, one of the screw threads is damaged so I can't mount it until i get the screw fixed so driving around with only the back licences plate, the police will be very happy to see me on the roads

Final statement, I am extremely pleased with this wonderful machine. It was a good day. Good night everyone

Awesome! Congrats.

As far as break-in, take some long drives and rev it up to 5500 without fear

Great first photo, congratulations and welcome.

During break-in do not baby it, use all gears in different revs, go up to 5000-5500 usually and on rare occasions even a bit more, maybe till 6000. Be careful the way that you utilise the clutch and gearbox, stay smooth there. Do not make lazy and smooth stops all the time, sometimes just load the brakes, they need it. Follow specific advises over differential break-in that you may find in this Forum or in M3 forum or just leave it after break-in. You can use the M button all the times if you like it (other than heavy traffic you will) which is the sport mode for the throttle response and when traffic and conditions allow try the MDM mode also, but for the DSC completely off mode just make sure there is no one around and the surface is dry, unless your name is Sebastian Loeb or so. What else, do all things hard only after the engine gets warm not before and when you are back home after a heavy or long driving just make sure the last few minutes are as calm as possible, if you forget that and reach to your garage in a fury wait a bit before shutting the engine down in order to cool down the turbos.

Prepare your very probably useless dealer to stock correct fuils weeks before the 2000km. service, sometimes go there during the break-in period and chat with them only for training purposes

Ah, and definitely tell us later how the 1M copes with the crazy heat of Dubai, if it doesn't get in a limp mode there it will never do it anywhere,

Best wishes.

Thank you for the kind words! I managed to rethread the screw for the towplate, the car is now complete Just need to get the IND parts installed.

Just a little story, I was driving back on Al-Khail road from Al-Ain which is around 100 KM away from Dubai and a white BMW M5 was on the fast lane. I could see him point at the car and his lips said "This is the one, This is the one". If an M5 gives 1M a nod, then something is definitly going right

@b33g33: Sir yes sir! Taking it to 5500 Feet!
@v1k0d3n: That's how I felt on the inside
@ozinaldo: Thank you for the advice my friend, will keep you posted on any limp mode issues.
@1SerieStud: definitly man! The ribbon was so cool! I took it off slowly hahaha
@Stratus650: We can finally go for a 1M cruise The dealership is my top secret location aka the BMW cave. hehe it is located somewhere in Abu Dhabi. Very nice people! good service so far.
@1'M Blue: thank you my friend, lovely work on the blue wrap. Your 1M looks sick!

The colors are not as nice as this shot was taken via the iphone.

It's the weekend! Time to go for a drive Now I understand what you guys have been blessed with. Ok Drive time! Bug you guys later

I completely agree with some sort of break-in process, but when I purchased my 135i, my dealer said that there is no need for a break-in period with any of their cars. He said "just don't go for a 4 hour drive with the cruise control on."
