Anyone have opinion on AFE

Looking into getting an intake. I have heard a lot about AFE and BMS DCI. Not sure which one to pull trigger on.

I would say there is no difference.

It just intake.

But seems DCI has difference with cold air intake. People say cold air intake is better. I have no idea about that.

I went with aFe.

I have the aFE, I like the color better.

Everyone else has the red ones, So I wanted the grey ones. I also like the couplers the aFE.

Never had the BMS so I don't know what they use.

I thought AFe intake actually made you lose power a little?

I currently have the jb4 and want to add the intake. Also looking into BOV I heard HKS was the best for our cars.

AFE looks better but uses a sub-par design and cheaper materials (i.e. plastic). For the money you can't go wrong with the standard DCI.

Do a go**amn search. This is the 1,000,000,000,000th intake thread on this forum.

Where did you hear this? The typical BOVs used in the community are the Synapse and TiAL Q.

Of all the intakes in the engine bay the majority would perform similar with negligible differences in power. So the answer is which do you like the most in terms of look or budget.

The only intakes that are not DCI are Stett CAI and Dinan Intake.

After that its custom.

You need to learn. Do you realize how much plastic/resin based materials are under your hood? Please don't make broad comments without knowing the composition of the meterial, heat rating, expansion ratings, etc. Your stock box is fricking plastic.

easy buddy, if you do a search there is a thread from awhile ago showing that the afe pipes actually deform under high heat, and in one instance they actually melted. that's some pretty scary shit to happen on an intake.

also look at the area around the filters and you will see that the bottom is blocked by the heat shield and the top by the hood. this does not leave much room for airflow.
