From what we were told by BMW, the first few shipments are going to have those ugly plates on them. Our sales staff all drove the 335i you see in the pictures posted here. The transmission shifts better and faster than the E90, it is a lot quieter, and feels more like a 535i with incredible handling now instead of the smaller E90 and E46.

You can park a truck between the wheels and the fender. Why? Is this a new ploy for BMW to move it's aftermarket parts?

I've never seen a factory 328i this high! I'm afraid to even think of what an xdrive would look like.

Have to be honest , The first interior ( buff or tan )
looks very very very cheap... the second looks better.
Not a big fan of the new body style. .... The front grill works on the z series and the 7 ... the 5 series can be missed in a sea of other like mid size sedans..
the 6 is a nice improvement but forced... I think I am a pretty good judge considering I have owned all cars in the bmw line up with the exception of the Z and the X series... But as always I will stay true fateful to the brand because after all it is BMW... the ultimate driving machine \\\

The cars are shipped with plastic blocks in the springs that cause that raised ride height. It is removed during prep at the dealer. Not to worry.

I love the new look. I'm currently driving a 2011 E90 328i and it looks so boring in comparison. I like the new F30 more than any recent BMW.

The F30 328i with the tape still on the hood had not had it's PDI done yet. It still had it's shipping blocks on and that's why it looks high off the wheels. The 335i was going through it's PDI when these pictures were taken. Everyone thought the E46's and E90's were a hit, but the current F30's are going to be a homerun. BMW is going to have it's biggest hit yet with the F30's since the Z3 and the E30's.

Just because you've owned so many BMW models it doesn't make you "a pretty good judge". It makes you biased, maybe.

Looks are always subjective and beauty is in the eye of the beholder. There are no experts or pretty good judges.

I, for example, find the F30 very good looking inside and out....so far from pictures. On the other hand, I disliked the exterior of the new 6er right from the first pictures and still dislike it after seeing it the flesh plenty of times already. It is just plain ugly. The new 1-series is also ugly. Both models are probably the ugliest BMW models ever and the only ones I don't like.

BMW is usually on a seven year cycle for a body style change on all of it's models. There is always critics that love it or hate it. The Germans have the attitude that it is a BMW and we don't care because it is a BMW that has been in Motor Trend's Top 10 Best Picks for 21 consecutive years and won countless other awards. The F30 is a welcome change for the 3 Series, because the rear seat leg room has always been one of the major reasons we have lost sales to Lexus. Most people would prefer BMW over Lexus, but if they have children, carpool, or drive around clients the 3 Series was always hammered for rear seat leg room.
