18" square with spacer or go with staggered???
I'm looking in getting 18" wheel for my pre-lci e90 with sport suspension and my dilemma is to go staggered or squared.
The only reason why I am considering a square setup is the ability of tire rotation. We all know how our BMW kills rear tires sooner than the fronts. I was told to get 18X8.5 ET35 all around. I was also told to get ET40 all around. Just not sure which is best 35 or 40. I was also told that I should install a 15mm hubcentric spacer in the back to have it more flush. All without any problems and without a fender roll. Has anyone run this square setup with spacers? Comments? I prefer squared with the posibility of tire rotation but just not sure with the 15mm rear wheel spacer. Or I should just go with 18X8.5 ET35, 9.5 ET33 with 235/40/18 and 265/35/18 |

Thinking of doing 9.5 with 255 squared. Think that wil solve most problems, Im running 8.5 - 245/40 up fron now. Not a single issue.

Technically speaking, the correct offset is always better than adding spacers. I've always been a fan of staggered myself and that's the direction I'd take. With a good alignment and on stock suspension the rears will wear a bit faster than the fronts, but not by much.
