Quality of BMW 1M Mats

For those of you that bought BMW 1M mats with the "M" logo...what was the quality of the embroidering? Were you satisfied? Did it look professionally done?

I just bought these mats from BMW South County and the driver's mat embroidery looks like a flea market special. I complained to them and they said "I am the first person to complain" and that "all the mats in stock look the same" I told him I thought they were knockoffs and he said "The company that these were purchased from is BMW. There are thousands of these sets available and I am being told that all of the Drivers mats look like that. I’m sorry to say but there is no fix in the works. The best I can do for you is refund your money."

So I complained to BMW NA and they said "Dear Mr. xxxxx, thank you for contacting BMW of North America, LLC regarding your M floor mats. Customer feedback plays an integral role in improving product design and development. We appreciate the time you have taken to share your thoughts; your sentiments will be heard and considered.

Sincerely,
Rachael xxxxxx
Customer Relations and Services Representative"

So basically a brush off and nothing for me to do except keep them or ship them back at my expense ($19) and get my money back, losing two months in the whole transaction.

Am I being too petty about the logo and the poor workmanship? Anyone else complain? Am I the only one with a complaint?

I have a set and the quality is better than the pictures you posted.

Granted I purchased mine several months ago.

I am not buying them and putting in my car, the reason is exactly what you complain about. The standart velour black is good enough, at least usual BMW quality and I would like the 1M ones to come just with VO stitching but w/out that M logo anyway.

Correct me if I am wrong, Jezzer's UK 1M mats are not official 1M mats, they are aftermarket. And yes the BMW 1M mats should also look like that anyway.

They are not as nice as the E46 mats but nothing wrong with them. I also got mine from South County and logo doesn't look bad like yours. Looks like yours is defective.

I too found the quality of these mats to be anything but decent, or up to BMW standards. Mine are not as bad as Ricx's, but certainly not anywhere near Jezzer's. I too was left scratching my head how can BMW's quality control pass this, really shitty job.

Not only was the logo badly stitched, the driver's side foot 'padding' had glue or some other form of residue around one of the sides, I had to use a black Sharpey pen to black it out so it is less noticeable. These mats should have come standard with the car, and since BMW charges for them you would at least expect it to be of good quality.

+1000, I just bought some 1m floor mats as well and mine also look like Ricx's (although the M logo is not as bad in terms of alignment). I also had issues with some glue residue which I ended up cutting out and my orange stitching is just poorly done in some areas. My most disappointing BMW accessory purchase to date, nothing like Jezzer's which look completely different.

Rick have you thought about the euro spec rubber mats? I have them in my car - I like them. €45 for the front set The driver's mat has a cloth section where your feet are. The rest is all rubber.

Dave, I already have the rubber mats...I was just buying these "M" logo mats to compliment the car during our drives/shows.

I think I'm going to ditch the pisspoor quality BMWs "M" logo mats and buy from Jeezer's source...if he/she makes LHD mats.

Anyone for a GB?

What's sad is that BMW South County says that 1) they buy from BMW and 2) all their driver mats look the same...that means many more satisfied customers as I seem to be the only one that's complained to them so far....

The only way for this to change is if others that receive these flea market quality mats return them for refunds. After enough refunds are given, maybe BMW NA will look into it. Unlikely but hey, who knows.

I would be in for a GB from Jezzer's source. It is sad to have such a car and a cheapened set of mats which are always in your eyesight.

IMO it is unlikely that even with a lot of refunds BMW will look into it seriously and actually do something, other than...discontinue them. Sales figures are just not there for them to re-do the production (it may very well be done by a subcontractor). One of downsides of having a limited prod car...

Mine look like the 1st pic in Rikx's post. Far from perfect but not terribly bothersome to me.
