FMIC.......

Just wanted to ask some of you guys on the forum or vendors about purchasing a FMIC. I wanna make a purchase within the next couple of weeks. Its gonna be between ETS 5" or Helix. Which of the 2 has the best price including shipping?

PM Jeff@Topgearsolutions. I believe the ETS is the cheaper of the two. Both great choices.

If you don't want to make any modifications to your front core support, ETS makes a nice 5" unit that will support up to 400 whp and still keep the IAT's in check.

We are currently at 405 WHP on our GIAC stage 2 1M.

If you don't' mind cutting up your core support, the 7" ETS and AMS are all good units.

I actually think the ETS unit can support more than that. I have been told by several people I really trust on this forum that you won't need anything larger until you're running upgraded turbos.

You can't go wrong with either. Both will serve the same function to the point where I doubt you could tell if you did a comparison.

The reason why i chose ETS is mainly because of the high HP engines that choose them. Their fin design utilizes the entire core whereby it forces the air to go through all the fins and not just the shortest route... check this vid out of a sick evo using their 5" intercooler...

5inch is not the height. Its the depth of the core. Just letting you know.

You can order the ETS Evo intercooler with a standard 3.0 core. 3.5/4.0/ or 5.0"

I know that's what I was trying to point out to the guy posting the vid..thought he may not realize that 5" is the depth to both, while the height of the N54 one is much smaller than the one in the vid..

I could have re-worded that better but I was agreeing with you an expanding on it.

Thanks man, i do know that its not the height. I dont want one that high cuz my bumper wont allow for that much air flowing through all the fins. I wanted to post it cuz of the high hp cars choosing ets designs... I also dont have 800whp either so the stock ets replacement 5" intercooler is best for me... thats all i wanted to show

Also check out the ER FMIC. Its relatively new but we have had nothing but great feedback fro it.

ETS is very popular as well.
