It's time to just get a used AWD vehicle with snows if you need chains, i.e. going to ski areas regularly. my .02. Chains imho are reserved for State Police and emergency vehicles.

I also have a Land Rover Discovery but it's due an MOT soon. (annual vehicle test in the UK) and I doubt it will pass so I will need to get rid of it.

Just got my e9x, and haven't had any problems in the snow we had this weekend (about 4-6" in 6 hours, wasn't salted or plowed before I drove). I'm on stock runflats. Just gotta be smart about your driving I guess.

That being said, I had a Volvo S40 FWD with summer tires on it when it snowed last time... I put the car away after one trip in the unplowed snow, and sold it a month later for my e9x.. That was an exercise in failure.. I had the summer tires because I got them while in FL and didn't see myself coming up north after graduation... Whoops... Thankfully I walk to work and the stores and whatnot.. Cars are only for fun for me

We don't get much snow but I use our '04 CR-V in the winter.
