Need 18" suggestions <$1000

Hey, I am going to be getting some 18" wheels for track use but I don't know what to get. I'd like them to be 9.0 or wider. I don't want anything heavy or expensive. I'm looking to spend under $1000 total not including tires.

At first i was looking at the BMW CSL reps but they aren't that wide, only 8.5, but they are still a possibility.

I would look for some 17s cuz light 18s are somewhat expensive or maybe look for some used 18s.
Sometimes people think they’ll need light weight wheels for track but if you’re not modding the entire car light, then it will not make any difference.
I remember Tirerack had a special on some light racing rims, check it out

The 330i comes stock with 18s though so 17s will automatically make me ineligible for certain categories.

Please, just suggest wheels.

Either or, I just want a lot of choices so I can narrow it down depending on what I like.

Well I found some that are 8.5F and 9.5R. I was looking for a minimum of 9.0.

well consider that being wider than stock does not necessarily always translate into better handling. BMW engineers have tuned the stock suspensions to handle the best with the tires and wheel sizes that come fitted with the car. If you change the springs or the suspension, then you will definitely benefit from perhaps wider wheels and improve the handling characteristics of the car. If anything at all, the wider rears will have a bigger effect if you run the stock suspension set-up.

The 18in csl reps will work fine. Those are cheap and fairly light.

How wide of a tire are you trying to run? A 8.5" CSL or M6 wheel will fit 255s just fine. Possibly even 265s, depending on the tire brand, etc.

I have one OZ ultraleggera 18x9 ET40 wheel used for test fitment and is brand new. Look at other recent thread on 18" track wheels. I will make you a great deal on this wheel and you can buy three others and arrive close to your $1,000 mark. Send me a PM if interested. I have not had a chance yet to post on the classifieds. This wheel fits without any rubbing and if you want 3" spacers, I have those too, but you don't really need them. Other than this wheel, you will not find any other 18X9 for less money that fits the 335i.

Nope, but if he wanted real track wheels, he wouldn't be looking at 18s anyways.

If you are willing to step it down a size, go with the K1s, cheap and light. May bend a bit easier though, but they are good for what they cost.

Hey Don, are you sure the 17" K1's will clear the sport brakes if he has them?
