20s vs 19s
Hey guys I am trying to decide between 19 or 20s. Is the ride on 20s that bad? Let me know if you have some experience. Thanks.

its not bad, its better than my oem 16's. anything is better than the oem's. you definately feel the road more but if you get some quality tires, you should be ok. yes you have to watch out for pot holes more, but you need to do that with all calls that have after-market wheels and are lowered regardless.
20's are bling which = theres nothing good for performance with 20's on a 3'er.

I still think 20" look a little too big...you really need to get dark or black rims 20" wheels for it to look right.
19" looks perfect in any colour on the 3 series... |

Hey Don************, i sent you a pm about H&Rs, waitin for reply. I have been looking at all the e92, and the 19s look kind of small in my eyes. But I just don't want to lose the comfort that I have now. How about 19.5? lol j/k

I don't know if it is just me but I really don't feel like I lost any comfort from my 20's. I would say once I dropped it, it became a tiny bit stiffer.
I think if you go with the right set up 20's look the best but 19's look good with the right wheel as well and they are the safer bet. |

do you guys mind sharing the specs of the wheel like width and offset, and maybe some pictures would be nice too. Thanks.

20's look good if you have a lip whereas to me 19's look a lil small. To each their own tho. But, all the cautions and warnings above are true with 20's or any aftermarket wheel set for that matter.

i dont think 20's are too big. I too would go 21 if i could
-on a side note, if you want a less rough ride, go with the 19's

Weight
These big wheels weigh alot and just sap the power & torque from the car.....if you care about performance. Some don't.
20" wheels + 20" tires are heavy.....

wheel weight
I went with 20" HRE's on my E90, and the wheels actually got lighter. The difference between my rear 18" stock wheel/RFT tire and the HRE rear 20x10-285/25/20 is almost 18lbs! A friend of mine went from the stock wheels on his 530 to 21x10.5-295/25/21 and lost almost 20lbs per wheel. Not to mention the ultra deep lip that looks super aggressive. Ride quality is a little better than stock, but I'm also running the PSS9's so I'm able to adjust compression/rebound.

Ive got 20s on my coupe and would be pissed if I went any other way. Ride quality is a bit better than stock....but hitting a big bump in the road is more harsh than stock, but I have found ways to avoid them. Mike.
