over revin on my 4th gear.. (step.)

i think it went over 6000rpm... stupid ol me.. the turbo sounded so weird..
did i fuked up my car??? i pretty much floor'ed tryint o race wit this one bastard who tried to take off on me hehehe

I can't possibly see why you would have messed up the car. These bad boys are built for speed, not 60 MPH American highways (we should really get an Autobahn*esque* type of roadway) You'll be fine.

I wouldn't say you're an idiot for doing that.

I'd call you an idiot for thinking you can mess up a step car considering the computer checks to see if you will over-rev and conservatively inhibits the car from doing so.

Relax not possible to overrev a modern automatic car. The fuel cut will kick in before you damage anything or it will shift to the next gear.

Ahmm, your redline is 7000, reving to 6000rpm is not over reving anything... If you are still breaking in, slap yourself once and move on... Nothing terrible would happen...

first off you cant even redline with step it'll upshift for you even if you try ....and ive seen some of your other posts on other peoples threads saying how stupid they are......but this seem to be the stupiest thread since its been discussed about 2234242 times!!!! do some ....

+1 to this and other correct response... redline is 7k, 6k is no prob.. and you can't overrev in an auto..

happened to 4-5 other members too this week.... actually if i remember correctly, one guy said the next time he went over 6000 RPM's, his engine malfunctioned and costed him 1000000 to fix....

so id becareful if i were you...

actually if u start shift in the sport mode on the step it'll stop shifting for u. if u want it to shift close to redline automatically u have to put it back in drive then sport again

4th gear over 6000rpm is like 120mph... are you sure you just didnt hit the kickdown button?

Is it possible to over-rev a step? I didn't think that he computer would even let you drop the car into a gear that is too low to go past redline.
