Also protect your wheels from being nicked by fitting an additional set of non-BMW wheel lock bolts, such as McGard. This might discourage lazy car thieves. Specialized car thieves have the complete set of BMW wheel lock bolt keys anyway. According to this thread, as well as according to Tire Rack, McGard 27179 will fit the 19" 1M wheels (19" 359M stock wheels, 19" BBS CH-R wheels, etc.): http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=567004 http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...All&sort=Brand (check the tab "Optional Hardware" below) Black finish head ($40.95 for a set at Tire Rack): Chrome finish head ($29.95 for a set at Tire Rack): |

LOL Gotcha, so how would that make a GPS tracker not work? I'd give up the car and then immediately call the police and give them the tracker information??

Yeah I agree, I'd never feel the same about the car again . I did get some of the McGard locking nuts for the wheels as BMW only have a limited number of designs for their locking wheel nuts.

Not surprised
When I lived there 20 years ago I remember my boss's yellow M3 being stolen from the NEC car park in Brum, stolen to order - Definitely! They took all his belongings out and left them in the space where the car was - the old bill reckoned it would be out of the country within 24 - 48 hours!
With a car like the 1M being a limited build it was just a matter of time before they attract the 'wrong' attention. Shame. |

Appreciate the advise, yet your example is slightly awkward as McGard is the BMW OEM supplier. Chances are the key sets overlap!

Ever see... "lock stock and two smoking barrels" film. I never heard of: "got a shooter stuck in your boat" either. You Brits have the strangest take on English. |
