Exclamation 19" or 20" ???

I am considering to buy wheels (like Iforged senecas, Advan rs-d, Advan rz-df or something similar to these, open for suggestions ) some time soon and the first difficulty i come to is the size of the wheels. 19" or 20" ??? By what I see in forums and on the street, looks like most of e90 and e92 non m3 owners, put 19" aftermarket wheels, if they take off their oem wheels from the car at all. Why do guys choose 19" instead of 20" wheels? 20" are less practical or is it the price? What are the PROS and CONS having 19" and 20" ?

If you have perfect roads, go for whatever you want. If the roads in your area are rough or have potholes, you would be better off with 18's. It is pretty easy to damage 19+ on mediocre roads.

Personally I think 19s look best on the E9x chassis, but I've seen 20s work. 19s will provide a slightly better ride quality since the tires will have a taller sidewall than on a set of 20s. I think what it comes down to though is your taste and preferences though.

Here are photos of 19s and 20s on some E9xs for you.

If You live in a bigger U.S. city, in my case Chicago, some of the roads are not perfect, but guess there is no perfect roads anywhere if You drive around a lot

Honestly I went with 19's as I've heard people going through tires on 20's pretty quick and those 285/25/20 cost a pretty penny, I guess it all depends on the size of the wheel your going to run, but I think IMO it puts less stress on the transmission as well.
