Ouch. This Lent my be a tough one...

My wife pointed out that my "sacrifice" last year was way too easy and evasive (I opted to avoid Starbuck's for the season). This year, she said "true sacrifice" would be not driving the M until Easter.

Crikey.

I'm trying to come up with something else, like no chocolate, or no gaming on the iPhone for the month.

That isn't a good sacrifice, that would suck! LOL Why not like at least something like taking a break from the forums till lent? I could do that easier than giving up my car! HAHA

Abstinence or celibacy.

pick both for bonus points.

You should tell your SO that you only follow the true faith. FSM created the universe and what did jesus do? He died on a cross and came back once? Nah man tell that person that you believe in Goku and The Doctor.

Think about how many times those guys have saved the earth.

Try to convince her that refraining from using the M-button is a more challenging sacrifice than not driving the 1M at all: the temptation is there but you must resist ("voir, mais pas toucher").

Tell her she can give up the M by walking to church every Sunday. Ya know, like Jesus did.

Why not change the wife? Would it count as a sacrifice as well?

lol isn't that the point of lent? to live without something that is hard to live without...as a lesson of patience and goodwill to yourself? seems like a good suggestion from the wife

Yeah but it is a bit beyond "a lesson of patience and goodwill", it is like cheating yourself, your very nature (that wants to drive the damn car). Plus, marriage is like a software update just keeps getting better with every new one! All I see is a win-win here

Was just kidding though, still kidding, can't help it! No one please put the blame on me for their future divorces.

I would say your abstinence is no driving Starbucks while driving your 1m!

Okay, we negotiated. I gave up cheeses for Lent, which is pretty bad, but not as apocalyptic as giving up the M. Whew.
